I wish it were an exaggeration. Why not read the rest of my site and see if you think I don't know Morocco or I exaggerate elsewhere. Otherwise, you have no reason to question my honesty. Seriously.

Hi, i have stayed here and it was an extremely pleasant experience, I can't believe that it was so a big mess about reheating the fries, honestly I think that you are making a big deal about nothing, it has always been awesome, in Morocco things are different, that's the way it is, I'm not moroccan and it has been very hard to get used to some things, but I think that this is an exageration.

as an ex manager of a riad I can assure you that I always felt alright with American guests they were always kind to me as far as i was. concerning alcohol as far as I know is not sold in the old city of Meknes, if they gave it to you in this Riad "this is illegal" so may be this is the reason why he was rude with you, but this is not an excuse.

I am sure asking for French fries, wine, and Internet access was a problem, as was the fact I was travelling without my husband, who was in the US at the time. These things on their own are no reason for me to be treated rudely as a paying guest. And if they don't want women traveling alone or drinking wine, they should have taken my money and they shouldn't serve alcohol at all. Amine was rude to me precisely because I was alone and vulnerable.

I am an American lady married to a Moroccan man. Why your husband was not with you in this Riad??? My husband is always with us when we travel aroud Morocco or Europe.
We stayed in this Riad many many times, and we have ben treated very very nice. I had many many cups of Moroccan mint tea and cookies with Amine , or his mother. We discussed many issues about life in Morocco , the USA the American women , the Moroccan women issues. I never had any kind of misunderstanding or problems in Morocco. I am always with my husband or his family members visiting new places in Morocco.
Sorry that you had a bad experience . Asking French fries maybe was the cause of this trouble, maybe ????

We are an English family who have just spent 4 nights at the Riad D'Or and found the two hosts (Amine and his Italian business partner Giuseppe) absolutely hospitable and charming. They went the extra mile to make our stay comfortable, for example providing an extra heater and reading lamp on request; meeting us at the station; negotiating with taxi drviers on our behalf.
